How can I truly speak with conviction?

Talk! Talk! Talk! We hear, we read, we see, we judge and we speak. Our words are often an expression of mere hearsay and conjecture. No matter how tutored our vocabulary or how eloquent our delivery, the essence of our conviction causes our words to ring hollow or true. An example of this, are the clergy. Priests are well schooled in the dogma of religion and are capable of speaking volumes on the subject of Divinity. Yet, few of them are able to sway or convince their congregations on the subject of Divine providence. Their knowledge of the Divine is gleaned from the Holy Books and the mastery of theology. They know all about the Divine, but if they have not had a Divine experience, then their words will lack conviction. One experience is worth more than a thousand theories.

However, that does not mean that we have to wait to have an experience or be a witness before we can speak with conviction. If we were to speak with total and absolute faith in our words, then our conviction will ring louder than our words. Do not confuse your beliefs with your faith. Your beliefs are based on what you have heard or read, whereas, your faith is based on certainty. No matter what you have heard or read to the contrary, you KNOW! That is your faith.

This knowing or certainty is often 'illogical' or contrary to empirical scientific proof. The maxim that we must understand before we can accept as true, borders on ridiculous. For example, we do not have to understand how our digestive system works before we eat. The obvious answer is that we 'know' that we will digest our food because we have faith.

If the motivation for our words and actions come from the depths of our faith, then our 'truth' will not be "written in sand" by our mind, but our 'truth' will be "carved in stone" by our spirit.
